About us:
Legora is working to empower lawyers and automate legal work. Our approach is to enable the lawyer of the future: a human-AI lawyer who's an order of magnitude more effective than a team of conventional legal professionals. The human-AI lawyer will iterate at the speed of their judgment, even in the most complex legal scenarios, and will out-smart and out-deliver the best pure AI system.
You are joining an early-stage scale-up with exceptional product-market fit that thousands of lawyers use daily at global institutions such as Bird&Bird, Mannheimer Swartling, and Heineken. Backed by $37M in funding from top investors like Benchmark, Redpoint, and Y Combinator, Leya is a group of exceptional engineers, lawyers, and doers. Here, you will have infinite room to grow and rethink how truly worthwhile work gets done.
The role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive senior accountant to join our finance team in building a multientity fast growing scale up. You will be part of our Finance team in the Stockholm office and will be managing a wide array of financial tasks, from performing book closing activities to ensuring accurate invoicing and payments across Legora’s group entities. You will work continuously with optimising and improving our financial processes to ensure Legora’s financial results are delivered with high quality to stakeholders on time. This role requires strong organizational and people skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
In short, your key responsibilities will be:
Have full ownership over our quote to cash process, collaborating closely with our growth and product analytics team to ensure billings are processed accurately and according to contractual agreements.
Together with Revenue Operations, ensure that the billing infrastructure is up to date with Legora’s product and pricing
Manage day-to-day processes such as accounts payable, expense management and weekly payments
Perform book closing activities including general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Filing and reporting VAT and other necessary statutory filings in the different jurisdictions, to date Sweden, UK and US.
Assist in preparing annual reports, statutory filings and other necessary documentation for external stakeholders
Analyse monthly results and create periodical entries
Develop and improve financial processes
Assist in global expansion activities
Assist in audit processes
Who you are:
Integrity: You will be at the centre of Legora’s operations, entrusted with large autonomy and access to sensitive information. Your role relies on unquestionable integrity, trust, and transparency with the team and management. You ensure ethical financial practices are upheld within the organization, promoting accountability and adherence to financial laws and standards.
Diligent: You take end-to-end ownership of our financial data and stack, paying attention to every detail.
Autonomous: Although constantly working in a team, we believe in self-leadership and ownership! You value feedback, take initiative without needing direction, and focus on outcomes. You are not afraid to try new things and learn from your mistakes rather than play it safe.
Entrepreneurial: Legora is an ambitious start-up. Things move fast, tasks and challenges may be demanding, and responsibilities may change over time. But you’ll get to work with a team of brilliant and dedicated people who are all working to solve difficult problems and really change how legal work is done.
