The role

As Director of Engineering for AI products, you will lead and scale the AI-based product teams at Legora. You will shape the technical vision, build world-class engineering teams, and empower high-performing teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and innovative products. This role requires someone who has navigated rapid growth before, managed managers, and brings a strong technical foundation to guide architectural decisions and organizational strategy.

What you will be doing:

• Lead and grow a group of engineering teams, ensuring structure, clarity, and alignment across them all.
  
  
• Define and execute the long-term engineering strategy in partnership with product leadership, aligning technology investments with Legora’s business goals.
  
  
• Drive organizational scalability by implementing best-in-class processes around hiring, onboarding, performance management, and technical excellence.
  
  
• Act as a mentor and coach to engineering managers, helping them scale their teams and careers while maintaining a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and collaboration.
  
  
• Ensure high-quality delivery across multiple product lines, balancing speed of execution with security, compliance, and technical sustainability.
  
  
• Guide technical decision making across multiple teams.
  
  
• Partner closely with product and design leaders to align roadmaps and deliver customer impact at scale.
  
  
• Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  
  
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies and engineering practices, bringing thought leadership into both technical and organizational evolution.
  
  

Who you are

• You come from a strong technical background, with the ability to engage deeply on architecture and scalability.
  
  
• You have seen and successfully managed through hyper growth - building, scaling, and stabilizing engineering organizations at pace.
  
  
• You have proven experience managing managers, not just ICs, and know how to design and grow organizations.
  
  
• You thrive in high-ownership, fast-paced startup environments where you’re empowered to make big decisions.
  
  
• You are a strong communicator, capable of inspiring engineers, aligning executives, and translating between technical and business contexts. To do this, you have good business understanding.
